Green-Steam Carpet Clean is a company created by Chris Player. The company is specializes in cleaning carpet, floors and upholstery. It serves residential, commercial and industrial properties. It also cleans the interior of bus and luxury boats. Green-steam is headquartered in Sydney, Australia. And it still didn’t have a logo design.
As the main differential of competing companies, Green-Steam uses eco-friendly products, that is, non-toxic and biodegradable, that’s why Green in the name.
The company also has a program to help reforest global forests. Thus offsetting the carbon footprint. For every carpet and upholstery booking, the company plants 20 trees.
Briefing
Chris already had in mind what should be included in the logo, but he needed to turn his idea into a professional design. As a starting point, he told me he would like a retro style and have a vacuum built into the design.
Logo design creation process
As the order was a retro style, I decided to wrap the logo in a circle, this also helped to maintain the proportion, so it would be better applied to uniforms, signs, etc.
I made the vacuum more angled to make the logo more dynamic, besides, I didn’t leave the complete circle, the upper right part is missing, causing the effect that the vacuum “cleaned the line”.
To represent the company’s name and philosophy, the primary color should obviously be green. The shade that was chosen is the same used in the van used by the company.
With the symbol defined, I started working on the text. The typography chosen was script font for a retro feel and a beach atmosphere. The company name is tilted at 25º to follow the angle of the vacuum.
Result
Chris was very happy with the result and approved without the need to make changes. This was the first project we worked on together and to this day he still contacts me when he needs some design or website.
